The Kentwood Library building is on a formerly abandoned site in Kentwood, Louisiana, intended to be a neighborhood improvement catalyst. The library has a service desk, restrooms, stacks, a children’s area, a technology center, community rooms, office and workspaces, and an interactive omni-globe. The building includes cypress ceilings, soffits, and pine timber. The entire length of the block is lined with preserved, historic concrete steps. The library’s exterior has a rear plaza and outdoor movie theatre.
