The DSHS Football & Track project was Phase 2 in athletic improvements for Denham Springs High School. This project required the complete demolition of the football and track facilities. The newly constructed football stadium includes a modular stormwater detention system beneath the synthetic Geosurfaces – Tencate Grass GeoGreen turf system. The surrounding track is a synthetic Geotrax system with all required event markings. The adjacent field event area includes javelin, shotput, long jump, triple jump, and discus competition areas.
Masonry walls separate the track from the permanent aluminum grandstand system, which has a capacity of 5,500 people. The stadium houses a freestanding elevated press box with structural steel construction on the home side of the facility. The stadium facility also houses a 3,000 SF concession stand. The facility also includes a 5,000 SF pre-engineered metal maintenance building for equipment storage and a full-size natural sod practice field.
